And it was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for works of ministry, to build up the body of Christ, we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, as we mature to the full measure of the stature of Christ.…

Boom, Boom, Do it for the Vine

“Do it for the vine” is a whimsical sermon for teenagers. DIFTV is about teaching YA’s to stay connected to God’s will. .

Boom, Boom, do it for the Vine!

Boom, Boom, do it for the Vine!!

Boom, Boom, do it for the Vine!!

Boom, Boom, do it for the Vine!!!

Do it for grapes!

that produce the wine,

do it for the soul,

do it for the mind.

John 15:1-27  “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. …

With all things, I have learned to give credit and glory to God, for without him all things are impossible but with him, all things are made great and holy. As babes in Christ, we are stubbornly disobedient. Unwillingly to fully submit to God, we cherry pick which tenets of Christianity we want to implement into our lives and which portions we want to withhold to satisfy both good and evil. However, God is not a jester to be disrespected when we devour the fruit without caring for the roots, God curses our existence alike the fig tree of Mark 11:12-25

The Bible gives numerous parables regarding vines to teach us the communal beauty of Christianity. Out of many grapes, we are tied to one initial seed, one true Father. Although some Christians are false prophets, leading the naive to a fiery hell. God promises us that we can learn to recognize a saint by the fruit they bare or the lack of fruit.

Matthew 7:15-20  15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

God says a tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down. This refers to our ambitions, our relationships and our temperaments. Examine the livelihood of your dreams? Dead or growing? Only Christ approved related goals will nourish us.  A life in Christ produces fruits of the holy spirit whereas as life of sin produces death.

Galatians 5:22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentlenesses and self-control. Against such things, there is no law.

Through the miracle of God, his Holy Spirit that resides in grows in us, we are made into new creatures like water being turned into wine. May we drink of his living waters and become forever drunk in the Holy Spirit.

God is the turn-up, so let’s…
